Binders

We have a suitable binder for large and small, circular and damp products.

The term bundling is used for holding products together by means of a rubber band or a Strepper®. The machines that do this are referred to as elastic binders or Elastobinders.

Over the years, we have developed tried and tested technologies, as a result of which our machines are extremely reliable and perform stably in extreme circumstances. Almost all of our binders are available in various specifications and can be fitted with several options. We can also manufacture bespoke systems due to our in-house engineering facility.

Products, such as flowers, cables or vegetables, can be held together by an elastic cord or Strepper®. This process is called bundling. The machines that are used for this are elastic binders (elastic machines) and Elastobinders. The main reason for bundling with elastic is to keep loose products together to make one shipping unit. Think of loose flowers that are combined into one bunch, after which they are held together by an elastic.

Carrots, asparagus or spring onions, for example, can also be bundled into one consumer selling unit. Bundling products can also be done to pack multiple products at once. Think of a bundle of medicine boxes or hardware. By bundling the products, multiple packages can be packed at once. An additional advantage of bundling with elastic is that the product is not damaged. Click here for some appealing examples of bundling.

How does an elastic binder work?

Bundling with elastic can be done in two ways: with the help of an elastic machine (elastic binder) and elastic or with an Elastobinder with a Strepper®. When bundling with an elastic band, one rubber band is automatically placed around the product or bundle of products. The elastic is wound from a large roll (1000 or 3000 m), wrapped around the product, tied with a knot and then cut automatically. Click here for more information about elastic binders.

An Elastobinder works in a different way. A roll of Streppers® is fed into the machine, after which the machine takes one Strepper® off the roll. The Strepper® is clamped so that the products can be placed manually or automatically in the Strepper®. When the products are placed, the Elastobinder slowly releases the Strepper®, so that the products are bundled. The Strepper® is exceptionally soft and suitable for very delicate products such as vegetables (for example asparagus or spring onions) or soft medical tubes. The Strepper® can be made product-specific by adjusting the composition of the material. Click here for more information about our Elastobinders.

A number of factors play a role in the choice of the type of elastic or Strepper®. Factors such as the weight of the product, the voltage required, the type of product (hard, soft, food) and the type of machine you use or need. Our experienced specialists are available to support you in making the decision. Cyklop produces the products completely in-house, which makes it easy to carry out a practical test. Any risk can be excluded and you get exactly what you expect and need. Please do not hesitate to contact us for advice on elastic binders and elastobinders.

The elastic produced in-house at Cyklop is called Cylastic. This elastic is suitable for bundling different products, where the size of the product does not matter. The Cylastic binding elastic meets the safety standards and can be used in (fully) automatic bundling of products. Cylastic is available in different thicknesses and colors. Bundling with an Elastobinder is always done in combination with a Strepper®. The elastics are attached to each other on an industrial roll, so they can also be used mechanically. Many handling costs can be saved by working with an Elastobinder with Streppers®. Other advantages of the Strepper® over elastic are:
  • The closed shape of the Strepper®, so that no welding or knotting of the ends is necessary
  • The Strepper® does not deform the product and leaves no traces
  • The Strepper® is flexible: with the products bundled with Strepper® you can remove a product, without the rest of the products falling out
  • The Strepper® is versatile: with one size Strepper® you can bundle large and small products

Elastic or Strepper®; when do you use what? Usually a Strepper® is used when
  • Soft or fragile products must be bundled. It is possible that fragile products are cut slightly because of the small surface of the Cylastic elastic.
  • The bundled product should look visually appealing. A Strepper® is not knotted, making it more aesthetically pleasing.
  • Smooth or wet products should be bundled. The Strepper® does not absorb water.
